Description: Distribution of this moth seems to be Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Zimbabwe (www.africanmoths.com); Or as Riaan Stals put it "from W Cape to Zimbabwe". Does this mean any type of area (e.g. coastal, mountainous) between the south and north of this distribution area?

Description: Hundreds of these were crossing the road, mainly heading to the SE, but a few in any direction. Judging by the numbers this event probably numbered an order of magnitude or more all those much quoted stories of Springbuck migrations. I suspect it happens far more regularly too!

Description: This is a fairly large, long-haired, orange-brown and black caterpillar. This particular one was about 95mm in length. It has a beautiful copper glow in the sun. The ones I have come across in the garden seem to favour Gnidia plants.
