Description: There was a bit of a feeding frenzy of these moths on the Xysmalobium tysonianum flowers, to the extent that they would not even fly off when approached - almost as if they were drunk on the nectar.

Description: I have never been able to identify the host plant, as my wildebeest and/or zebra munch the flowers before I can identify the plant. It is probably Crinum macowani. The picture is from a previous season to show the flower head.

Description: Body length about 36mm. A large gathering on the main stem by daytime with an impressive pile of green droppings indicating that the mass of caterpillars migrate up the tree to feed on leaves, perhaps after sunset. Some have wasp cocoons attached to their hair.

Description: Quite large, about 36 mm from head to wingtip. The cat brought it in, in the middle of the night - lots of consternation, thought it had brought a bird in. Still managed to get pic's the next morning, don't know how much damage was done to it. Taken indoors on a carpet without flash.

Description: Unable to identify this moth. Its by far the biggest one I have ever seen. I saw it flying around a lamp and it looked bigger than a bat! Each wing was around 12cm in length. You can see its size compared to the large hawk moth in the first picture. The hawk moth had around an 8 or 9 cm entire wingspan, so you can see the other moth is much bigger. I'm guessing its in the SATURNIIDAE/LUDIINAE family of 'Princes' but I can't get a precise identification. Can anybody help?
