Description: Tony Rebelo's book "Proteas of SA" lists this species as L. teretifolium, but Jan Vlok & Anne Lise Schutte-Vlok's book "Plants of the Klein Karoo" lists it as L. osbornei. On the web (www.theplantlist.org/tpl/record/kew-2492589) the latter name seems not to be established as either an accepted name or as a synonym. Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Description: Shrub about 1m high. When we were part of the Protea Atlas Project, we plotted this as Ld album. It was also plotted as Ld dregei. It's probably a comination of boty. Jan Vlo asked us to look out for it at the base of Bailey's Peak. It does seem to only occur in this locality, which automatically makes it rare.
Description: This is the first observation made on iSpot for the Millennium Seed Bank. I'm hoping to add many more observations such as these and hopefully expose a bit of light on the wonderful (and sometimes very tiny) world of seeds :)

Description: Glad to see this population looking quite healthy. This is the only population in a conservation area and last time I was here (10 years ago) it was down to a handful of plants.
Description: A most unusual yellow form (only involucral leaves): usually they remain silver. Quite arresting. Only this plant doing this. At Kirstenbosch, so could it be a selection or cultivar?
