Description: A wetland species, growing fast and tall. This is the female in cone: no point in including males as they are just leaves at this stage. The seeds (fruit) are stored in these cones until the plant is killed by fire, after which they are released. Lifespan of released fruit is about 1 year, although they last for many yeas in the cones.
