Description: No Idea. I thought it was a Babiana to begin with, but it has no leaves to speak of and is long and tall, so I changed my mind and called it a Gladiolus. Then I had a re-think and decided it was a Watsonia; and I got so confused, I had to have a glass of sherry and a a little cry. But I am better now. In the Second pic, you can just see a reed-like stem with dry sharp pointy leaves. There was only one of them.

Description: Loads of these plants came up after fires in March/April. They have tubular leaves. Most of them put up an inflorescence but not a single one opened flowers. They all died without a single solitary flower opening. They look like Micranthus tubulosus, BUT it looks like the flowers would have been red-orange... Perplexed... PS rubbish photos taken with rubbish camera back in the day.
