Notes: Most easily confused with Gold Conebush, but males with scallop-brown involucral bracts, females with small heads in early flower and boot polish when big, leaf colour is much brighter pale yellow, and cones are not hidden or ridged. Uniquely in the genus: the fruit have an asymmetrical ridge, where the two floral bracts above overlap with it.
