Green 'n orange beetle - Montagu WCape
Initially I thought this was a glowbeetle, but, on closer inspection, it is not...

Ah hell Riaan
Just asked the Google faerie and even with "safe search" locked, searching for Compsonycha he (the blerry faerie) brought this up!
with a photo of a:
which just sounded too graphic to continue (PLUS I really have to get back to work)
But I did find this from Lund University... Which indicated (to me anyway) that Afronycha might be by far the more common genus. But then another resource seemed to indicate around 42 Southern African Afronycha spp and 12 Southern African Compsoncha spp.
So, I look forward to finding out more about this beetle and less about Lágybogárféléks and Suszterbogárs :o
PS: The links are all safe for work environments :D - except those where people are terrified of beetles

Strange hours
You guys, especially Riaan, keep strange hours.
Riaan: is 3am a late night or an early morning for you? Your answer will help me choose whether to agree with you or not.
A narcoleptic insomniac
3am is more or less my standard time to go to bed. That would qualify as late in the day, not necessarily late at night. An early morning in this abode (or the office) translates to 06:30. My office hours start at 07:45, but they don't mind if I come in earlier.
My educated guess: you are now not going to agree with me.

'fraid so
But it is heartening to hear that someone is keeping watch while I sleep.
Goeienag
Goeienag, Wynand. Ek het bietjie later opgebly omdat dit 'n Saterdagaand was, maar ek gaan nou maar inkruip. Lekker slaap.

Sondagoggend
Môre, Wynand. Ek gaan nou vir my 'n koffietjie maak, maar toe kom hoor ek eers of jy goed geslaap het.

LOL!!
Please excuse me interrupting but LOLOL!!

Thanks, Riaan
Knowing that iSpot is in good hands, I had a long and peaceful sleep. Knowing that when I get up, my careless and wayward identifications will have been swept up by caring hands and lovingly placed on the museum shelves where they belong.
In fact:
So invigorated by my recent requiescence am I, that "agreement" with your ID now comes easily.
In that case
I'm now going to take an afternoon nap.

Afronycha versus Compsonycha
Anybody feel like asking the Google god whether I chose the right genus?
