Description: 30mm. Picture 3: either tasting my finger or giving me a well-deserved nip. It bit lightly and then much harder, but didn't break the skin.

Description: [sorry for bad pic] A squealing and hissing drew my attention to this sight. I thought this pair had fallen over, so I tried to right them. She would not be righted because she was being wronged. Attached to her back was a very much smaller beetle (a teenage male I presume) and she rolled around making quite a racket, until she'd managed to dislodge the impudent squirt. The adult males (who are the same size as the adult females) always overpower the ladies with brute force.
