Oh ok - I was referring to the use of subspecies burchellii vs antiquorom, not the species burchellii vs quagga. I see you have answered that in your last point of the link. I was merely asking based on what EOL had said, that subsp. antiquorom was a synonym of subsp. burchellii, but I take your point on the confusion, so I take it they have just taken a different view point on the matter.

Ultimately there is only one correct answer, and it is just a matter of working out which it is.
Equus quagga older
No: Equus quagga predates E. burchellii.
If you know otherwise, please provide a source or reference.
