The genus Bronchus, at a time known as Hipporhinus, is endemic to South Africa, rather species-rich, and difficult to identify. Most species are known from their type material only, which is almost all in The Natural History Museum, London. A revision is overdue -- last revised by Sir Guy Marshall in 1904! Several undescribed species known in local collections.
This is not Bronchus furvus as shown in PGW2004: that species has spikes on the pronotum and, especially, a sharp, spikey, pointed process on each side of the pronotum. Also, not nearly all Bronchus species are "prong-tailed" [PGW2004], and the "prong tail" may vary or even be absent within those species that do have it.
Thank you...Sorry I tend to be a bit bold with my identifications but am VERY grateful for your explanations. I just wish I could keep more of the information in my head!
Many species of Bronchus
