Description: The name confusa according to Elsa Pooley is because it is often confused with other Kzn species with dry brown bracts, e.g. Watsonia densiflora. however, densiflora has dense inflorensces often 3 or more stems, and this doesn't, so that is why I plummed for confusa. the other two pink watsonias in the area are Pondoland endemics and Skyline reserve is just outside Pondoland. So its a bit tricky. judging from the description below, though, I think its right.
Description: Was surprized to see these leaves dead, did not realize that they were annual. Only afterwards did it dawn that this might not be annual but that the species is done for this fire cycle and would possibly only come up after the next fire. Veld about 20 years old - a patch that did not burn in the last fire.
