Description:

Robyn's Yarrow falls walk.

  1. Environment. Up on a rocky patch near Yarrow River. No other clumps seen.
  2. Plant. About a meter tall. Lots of basal leaves.
  3. Leaves. 550mm long, narrow (5mm). Tips brown and sharp. Edges transparent.
  4. Inflorescence. Single stem with few flowers at end. Old?
  5. Flowers. Lobes (40mm) and tube (30mm). Dull orange.
  6. Bracts. Reddish brown.

Description: Cormous geophyte, 50--120 cm. Leaves sword-shaped, well defined midrib. Outer bracts leathery, deeply forked for 10mm, inner bracts, smaller, completely enclosed, green. Flowers scarlet/orange, tube elongate, included or emerging shortly from bracts. Staminode-like ridges between bases of filaments. Style divides at mid anther level into long curved style branches. Capsules obovoid.
