Description: scrubby, multi-stemmed tree (c. 4m high) with bright red gum and a generous contingent of associated lichens, a few galls and some young spiders in residence. The tree had a few leaf oddments among its branches and some more recent foliage on thin adventitious stems arising from portions of trunk near ground level. There was no sign of flowers, (V.tortilis is one of the later-flowering thorn trees in the region)
