Description: I have no idea about the lichen - so can add no species interaction unless someone can help me. Can anyone see the glands on the leaf attachment? I do not know what these look like! What a genus as far as plant size variation is concerned.

Description: One of the African giants. Growing in alluvial soils from desert to tropics. Crosses the Sahel into Israel. Surprisingly, it loses it leaves in the wet season. Here,it flushes and flowers in late summer and is browsed by game throughout our dry Winter(by those that can reach high enough). The seed pods are said to be highly nutritious. Desert elephant do their famous hind leg stands to reach the pods.

Description: Height about 5m. First introduced from Australia by Baron Von Ludwig who planted it in his garden in 1833. Now escaped and can form monospecific stands that alter the landscape in many areas where it occurs. It should be removed before it takes over Montagu Pass!

Description: Three trees observed in the reserve, but not a full exploration done, also one seen outside reserve near Makowe Hill. Severe decline in numbers since 1988 ! On RED DATA list as endangered.
