Description: This looks like a common dotted fruit chafer but the white dots are only noticeable around the edges of the body. I could only see the lighter dots covering the rest of the body in my photos not with the naked eye.

Description: 15-20mm Thanks for all your nice/amusing comments, here's a bit more detail: Picture 1 is a crop of picture 2. Picture 2 shows the unsuspecting beetle to the left about to be beetle-bombed. What happened was a beetle flew off the plant as I approached, it buzzed around like crazy, then, when it was satisfied that its speed & trajectory would put it where it wanted to go, it folded its wings away and fell spread-eagled right onto the beetle on the left.
