Snail
(Added to iSpot on 11th March 2014)
Spire 22mm long. Found attached to a grass stem. No sign of life. A hardened secretion closed the mouth of the shell, but it looks like an epiphragm rather than an operculum.

Just left of green stem ( 2nd photo down on left )you can clearly see a hole in the epipgragm. It is positioned directly above the pneumostome ( respiratory opening of the snail ) and admits air to enable it to breath during aestivation.

grey spots.
Length up to 19 mm.
Habitat:Forest,woodland and Acacia savanna.
Distribution:Eastern South-Africa;Zululand into southern Mozambique.
