I wonder if anyone can help. Yesterday in Featherstone Kloof near Grahamstown I came much closer than I wanted to be to a lithe, coily, olivey-green snake with the occasional dark scale dotted about along its length. It was maybe half a metre long. It was on a jeep-track running through grassland with a wetland nearby. It was even quicker than me at removing itself from the scene, so this description is a snapshot fueled by adrenalin - truth be told I very nearly put my foot on it whilst running and we both had a moment of confusion and panic. Would anyone know what it might have been?
