First species to reach 1000 observations
1 November 2013 - 6:55am — tony rebeloThe Western Leopard Toad last night became the first species to reach 1000 observations on iSpot.
This is probably the result of it being one of the first species in South Africa to be the focus of a Biodiversity Management Plan.
The need for such a plan is evident in some of the pictures: traffic kill at the breeding sites can be horrific.
Part of the monitoring of the toads is the "Upload Your Toad" campaign - see http://ispot.org.za/node/137767 - upload your toad.If you want to participate in saving our toads why not visit http://www.leopardtoad.co.za/
