Description: No we did not see any Blue Duiker on the trail: mostly plants!!

Specimen is situated in a large cavern close to the wall so is very sheltered and also in an area that receives little rain courtesy of overhanging rock. A natural 'Bonsai' subject!

Description: Shrub or small tree, slender trunk. Leaves in pairs along new season's growth, ovate to almost circular. Branching pattern opposite with unarmed branches angled upwards, geometric - attractive visually. Specimen is just over a meter high.

Description: The largest specimen I've seen - at least 5M tall! Usually a beautiful small tree or shrub to 3m. Leaves opposite, dark green and glossy. Has bright orange/red tubular flowers in dense clusters, September to December.

Description: The problem with forest trees is identifying them. In this case the fruit lying on the ground. Fortunately a branch had fallen allowing one to see that the leaves were opposite which made ID easy (not that many opposite species!). Two trees were heavily laden with fruit, did not notice any on any other trees.
