Description: This ladybird was actually found in Yorkshire, England, but the recorder suspects that it crawled out of a shipment of grapes from South Africa. They tentatively identified it as Cheilomenes lunata, but it doesn't look quite right. Anyone got any more suggestions?

Description: Dense stands of this plant found underneath the bridge crossing the Orange River at Gariep. Almost certainly an alien as it forms dense stands only in disturbed areas. Looks a lot like Apiaceae, unfortunately did not smell it.

Description:
  1. Environment. In the forest. Been very wet. Common on path.
  2. Plant. Messy multi branched plant. Free standing specimens were 400mm but competing with others were 1.2m high.
  3. Leaves. Larger leave measured at ~ 35 by 70mm.
  4. Inflorescence. Hairy, sparse open but buds also seen.
  5. Flowers. Small, 20mm. Two lipped.
  6. Bracts. Hairy, narrow.
Overcast day, deep forest, poor lighting conditions, photography hard!
