How to request a 'badge' for a recording scheme or society
On iSpot you will see that various people have 'badges' next to their user name, and each time they make a contribution to iSpot the badge appears, with a link back to the website of the scheme or society they are representing.
If you are involved with a biological recording scheme or natural history society and would like to be badged as representing them, we’d be pleased to hear from you. Get registered on iSpot and then click here to contact us and send the following information:
- Your user name (this is included automatically if you use the contact us form)
- The society or scheme you are representing
- Your role within the society (e.g. member, chair, county recorder, etc.)
- The address for your society’s web page
On receiving your request for a badge, we will contact the society concerned to check that they are happy to be represented on iSpot, and to agree a suitable badge to use (e.g. if your society already has a logo or favicon on its web page we can often use that, or if not we can create something suitable).
Recording scheme/society representatives are playing an important role on iSpot, and we’re grateful to all the volunteers who have taken on this role so far – see our list of societies currently represented on iSpot. In return, your society receives additional publicity on iSpot, and we’re happy for you to promote any relevant events or activities that your society is undertaking.
If you’d like to set up a badge, or have any questions, please contact us.
