Description: Thanks for the help, and I hope you won't mind one more unidentified Moraea found in captivity. This one has me stumped. It is a summer-dormant, spring-blooming Moraea species that has a white flower prominently speckled in blue. It would be a very striking flower if it weren't so darned small. The plant has a single leaf attached near ground level. It came to me from a friend who grew it as Moraea longiaristata. But that species is supposed to have a long straight inner tepal.

Description: What on earth are they? About 10-15mm long, slightly slimy, with retractable heads only becoming visible after poked at with some patience. Sani Pass Flower Weekend

  1. Environment. On gentle grassland slope. No many seen but big stand seen at bottom of slope in the wet.
  2. Plant. 350mm, stalk hard.
  3. Leaves. Grass like, central vein raised behind, two smaller on each side, 220 by 5mm.
  4. Inflorescence. Top of stem, 7 out more to come, sparse
  5. Flowers. Three major brown and pointed tepals. 20mm accross, lib mauve, rest dirty mauve white.
